Mary Emma Cantrell
Mary Emma Cantrell, 87, of Monett, died at 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, following a battle with cancer.
Funeral services for Cantrell were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Monett, with the Rev. Andrew Kennell officiating. Interment was in the McCormick-St. John’s Cemetery, Monett.

Dennis Wayne Wilson
Dennis Wayne Wilson, 77, of Liberal, Mo., died Dec 17, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Wilson served two tours in Vietnam aboard the USS Cabildo while in the U.S. Navy.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023 at the Verdella Free Will Baptist Church in the Verdella community near Liberal, with burial following in the Barton City Cemetery, also near Liberal.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Barton County 4-H, Peterson Outdoor Ministries, or The Hanna Project (a humanitarian organization of the Free Will Baptist denomination), in care of Daniel Funeral Home.

Barbara Edna Bock
Barbara Edna Bock 95, died on Dec. 19, 2023 while a resident at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Lockwood, Mo.
Bock was born in New Jersey. After graduating from Drexel College in Philadelphia, she moved to Missouri to work for the Missouri Extension Service.
Bock was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church of Greenfield.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, Dec. 26, at 10 a.m. in the Greenfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.
Services are under the direction of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.

Joseph Dombroski
Joseph Edward “Joe” Dombroski, age 67, of Monett, died on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, while out looking for arrowheads in Rocky Comfort, Mo. Dombroski was born in Monett on Monday, Nov. 5, 1956. Graveside services were set to be held in the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Pulaskifield, Mo. on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, beginning at 2 p.m. with Father Paul Pudhota officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.

Mary A. (Birch) Sims
Mary A. (Birch) Sims, 79, of Greenfield, Mo., died on Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at Select Specialty Hospital in Springfield, Mo.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.

Martin Wagner
Martin Frederick Wagner, age 78, of the Sarcoxie and Pierce City area, died on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo.
Rosary was on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023, at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home followed by visitation until 8 p.m. Funeral Mass was set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, at St. Agnes Catholic Church on the Sarcoxie Prairie, with Father Matthew Rehrauer officiating. Burial was to follow in St. Agnes Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Agnes Catholic Church and Cemetery or to Childrens Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., in care of the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Mo.

Mary Louise Smith
Mary Louise Smith, 70, of Dupo, Ill., died on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2023, in Freistatt, Mo. following at automobile accident. She was born in East St. Louis, Ill. on Tuesday, June 2, 1953, the daughter of Clyde and Wilma (Stafford) Creasy.
Smith has been cremated, per her request.
No services are planned at this time.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, Mo.

Anita Sue Lintner
Anita Sue Lintner, 64, of Lamar, Mo., died on Sunday Dec. 24, 2023. She was born on Nov. 2, 1959 in Lamar to Frank and Anna (Geisler) Waring. Lintner was raised in the Iantha community and lived her entire life in Barton County.
The family will receive visitors beginning at 3 p.m., with a a celebration of life service to be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, at the Thiebaud Meeting Rooms in Lamar.

James Norman Haskins
James Norman Haskins, 78, formerly of Monett, died Friday Dec. 22, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
Haskins taught social studies at Purdy, Exeter, Dadeville and Miller schools. Also serving as a coach when needed, he last coached the Miller girls’ softball team before retiring in 2001.
Graveside services for Haskins are set for at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023 in the St. John’s on Stone’s Prairie Cemetery in Purdy, Missouri. Visitation will follow the graveside service at noon (12 p.m.) at the St. John’s on Stone’s Prairie Parish Hall. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. John’s on Stone’s Prairie Cemetery.
